(Nashville, Tenn.) August 21, 2009 – Word Entertainment recently announced the acquisition of The Breen Agency as a unique partner in the division of artist touring and booking in the July 18 issue of Billboard Magazine. In addition to publishing, merchandising, and online initiatives, the progressive asset of a booking agency further solidifies Word as a comprehensive entertainment company, as well as a leader in the industry.
Founded in 1998 by David Breen, The Breen Agency represents musicians, speakers, worship leaders and comedians, including Point Of Grace, Plumb, Cindy Morgan, Selah, Sidewalk Prophets and Satellites & Sirens. The agency is comprised of three agents - David Breen, Dara Easterday, and Rann Russell.
“Having spent the past 11 years running my own boutique agency, I am very excited about the opportunities and resources that partnering with a large company like Word Entertainment/Warner Brothers will give to our current roster of clients,” states The Breen Agency founder, David Breen. “I feel it is a perfect fit strategically into what Word Entertainment has been and is continuing to build as their new business model. This unique partnership will give us as a booking agency resources that no one else can offer, and we are excited to be joining their team.”
“As a company we are continually transforming our business model to meet the evolving needs of consumers and artists. The live experience is an integral part of both the artist’s career and the fan interaction and this acquisition allows Word to actively serve our artists in this area.” states Word Entertainment COO Rod Riley. “David has built a great agency that continuously works to ensure the success of their client roster and I am excited to welcome him and The Breen Agency to Word.”
Founder David Breen began his career in booking at Charles Dorris & Associates before moving to the William Morris Agency for seven years. Upon founding The Breen Agency, he signed nine-time Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Nichole Nordeman, along with popular Christian artists Watermark and Selah. Dara Easterday joined the agency in 1999 after graduating from Belmont University with a degree in Music Business, and working with the Greg Oliver Agency. Rann Russell joined the agency in 2006, after several years of tour and road management experience for Christian artists including Caedmon’s Call and Bebo Norman.
